Latvian energy and transport companies come under cyber-attack

On February 7th Latvian energy and transport companies have been attacked by cybercriminals as confirmed by cyber defence agency CERT.lv. They say that the attack likely came from groups that are funded by the Russian government however the attack was largely unsuccessful as the websites affected were only affected for a few minutes. The attackers aimed to overload the websites and shut them down to send a message that Lavia cannot protect itself.
