Over the past year DDos attacks have increased and they have begun to focus mainly on railways to go through with their ransomware schemes. This information was uncovered by the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) in their first cyber threat landscape report. The rise in DDos attacks is said to be largely related to the Russian war in Ukraine where cyber attacks on railway operators are commonplace for both sides of the battle. The report also looked into various other forms of cyber attack across 2021-2022 and provided data relating to the percentage each attack took in out of all cyber attacks. One of the key things to notice was the 15% decrease in data-related threats and the 15% increase in DDoS attacks.
