The London Waterloo station has begun trialling artificial intelligence that provides train information to passengers through British Sign Language. This makes railways much more inclusive as deaf or partially deaf people either can’t communicate at all or have great issues doing so meaning it was a difficult challenge for such people to find information normally. The technology will only be on trial for 6 months however if it is deemed to be an effective piece of technology SWR will look at deploying it across their entire network.
