Southampton suffering some of the worst cruise ship pollution in Europe

Toxic air pollutans caused by cruise ships around the world are now back to levels of the pre-pandemic, leaving many of Europe’s port cities with an issue of air pollution, as  shown by a new Transport and Environment study. One of the town’s most prevalent is Southampton in the UK with it ranking seventh highest in the world for most-polluted port from cruise ship air pollution. This is such a big issue that it is said that the air pollution from just 45 cruise ships is responsible for ten times more pollutants than all 93,000 of the cars in the city.
