More environmentally friendly buses will begin on the road as a part of a 25 million pounds government bid to clean the air. This change will be seen in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Hampshire, West Yorkshire, and York council areas as 177 new zero-emission buses are to be rolled out. These buses are to be made in Northern Ireland with the government saying that they will sustain high-skilled jobs. This project is said to be just a small part of a larger project in which a 300 million pound rollout of 1395 is to be seen. The department for transport has said the new additional funding ‘took the vision of a net zero transport economy closer to reality’. By next year it is said that Norwich will become home to the first fully electric bus depots outside of only London as it takes 70 new buses next year.
