1 in 5 Irish firms experienced cyber attacks last year

Almost 1 in  5 Irish firms experienced a cyber attack or data breach in 2022 according to new data discovered in a survey. The study from Aon shows that large companies with more than 250 employees are at a much bigger risk than smaller businesses. According to this research, 35% of firms have provided cybersecurity training to their employees which is a decrease from 2021 in which 40% of employees were trained. Despite this worrying look, some positives can be taken as two-thirds of Irish firms have said that they plan to invest more in cyber security in the coming years. An additional positive is that around 72% of firms with more than 250 employees have said they plan to increase their spending on the matter.
