1.5b bid to improve Midland’s connectivity

Midlands Connect has launched a 1.5b bid to secure more than 100 new trains on the railway lines. This comes as a part of a ‘going for growth plan’. This new plan would improve the key links between Leicester, Birmingham, Worcester, Bristol and Cardiff bringing great economic and social value. To accommodate these changes many changes need to be made and have already been made in relation to the infrastructure of Leicester Railways with signalling headways already planned to be added soon. The article below speaks in further detail detailing the plans for the future and how the Mayor of Leicester weighs in on this bid.
